Microchip Fitting Instructions
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
- A Power or Hand-operated Drill
- A 4mm Drill Bit
- A small piece of wood (matchstick)
- A small amount of Glue
Firstly, find a discrete unpolished wooden surface to drill the hole for the microchip. The wood will need to be about 20mm (¾ inch) thick - the wooden doors or inner frame on some clocks are often a good choice.
Once the hole is drilled, push in the micro-transmitter and insert a small piece of wood with glue to plug the hole. Leave this to dry and trim any remaining wood. This small mark can then be ‘Dotted’ with a dark pen (Brown or Black).
The Micro-transponder is now installed and will not require any batteries.
NOTE: Do not stick the Transponder ‘Asset ID’ tags onto the clock. These should be stored elsewhere and one of them should be attached to your Certification Documentation.
